An altercation between two families during a baby’s birthday party in Texas led to a shooting that left four men dead and one injured, authorities said.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at a one-year-old’s birthday party on Saturday in Taft, said Sgt. Nathan Brandley of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Police are looking for two suspects they believe are related to the shooting, he said.
The injured man was transported by air to a hospital in Corpus Christi, Brandley said. Details about his condition were not immediately available.
The victims have been identified as Juan Espinoza Sr, 62, Nicky Sandoval, 25, Juan Sandoval III, 20 and Jeremy Sandoval, 22. Juan Espinoza Jr., 43, was listed in critical, but stable, condition at an area hospital, authorities said.
Taft, a town of about 3,000 people is about 20 kilometers north of Corpus Christi.
Ronnie Rodriguez Jr, 20, was arrested Sunday in connection with the shootings. He was charged with deadly conduct discharging a firearm after a shooting and was released on $50,000 bail, according to authorities.
